Songlines

Songlines is the second of a trilogy of films under the umbrella title A New Eden, which explores evolution and the future of humanity in the face of major threats, including species extinction. In the first part of the trilogy, Future Primal, numerous jellyfish-like sea creatures reveal the presence of humans inside their submerged pod-like membranes, resembling an incubation or nesting from the natural world. In Songlines, these evolved humans ] ‘hatch’ out into a black volcanic landscape, seemingly beginning a new form of life. It is a collaboration with choreographer Maria Nilsson Waller. The Film features the music of the late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson
