Future Primal

Future Primal is a film about evolution, and questions the future of the human race, in the face of major threats of species extinction. The film begins with a strange embryonic creature, at first resembling jellyfish-like sea creatures, to eventually revel the presence of humans inside these submerged pod-like membranes. They are many and numerous as the film reveals hundreds of these ‘creatures’ in what looks like some sort of ‘human farm’. The film is somewhere between sci-fi and speculative fiction, imagining a future world, that is both frightening and redeeming.

It was shot by the artist and Oscar nominated cinematographer Robbie Ryan. The music by the late Icelandic Composer Jóhann Jóhannsson
